Why offer text-based coaching instead of virtual or in-person appointments?
I set out intending to offer hour-long video appointments, but I quickly discovered that wasn’t sustainable for me, or my disabled clients who share similar issues with screen time and the energy tax of human interaction.
Communicating through text has always been more accessible for me. It also enables me to offer support in the moments you need it most and create more accessible pricing models.
In-person appointments would be even less sustainable for me, so the cost would be incredibly high. As someone who takes the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic very seriously, protecting my health and yours is also my highest priority.
I need coaching but can’t afford it. Do you offer discounts or a sliding scale?
Part of why I chose a text-based model for health coaching is so I can offer my services at a more accessible price. Think of it as an investment in your future, and consider the cost of not doing it might far outweigh the benefits. That said, I understand that most chronically ill people struggle financially, and I want you to be able to access the care you need. I have very low energy, what level of commitment is required of me?
To start working with me, we’ll first have a 15-minute discovery call you can schedule online. After the call, I’ll send you a link to join my secure platform, where you can book your 30-minute intake call. Before booking, you’ll be asked to fill out a two-page questionnaire about your lifestyle and health history.
During the intake, we will set goals, and your commitment from that point depends on the goals we set and how much time you want to commit to them. There will be a mandatory check-in initiated by me once a week, otherwise, it’s up to you how often you reach out to me.
How do I know my information is secure?
I manage my practice through EHR software called Practice Better, which has HIPAA-compliant security. Your information is never shared with anyone without your consent, except as may be required by law.
Do you offer medical advice?
No, I’m not a healthcare professional. You should always check with your healthcare team before engaging in any new activities or treatments. I do have extensive healthcare knowledge that I will use to help support you as a complement to the care you’re already receiving or seeking in the future.
